I just sent an email to the gentleman who wrote the article in the Baltimore Sun.

I think the whole state of Maryland underestimated the Pioneers. It is that east coast mentality that finally did JH in. We have seven NCAA hockey championship banners hanging in Magness arena not mention our skiing championship banners. Bottom line, we know how to win.
I loved watching a team with a lot of heart, determination and grit beat a team that assumed they would be moving on. Don’t forget Ed, pride comes before the fall.

David and Goliath was lived out yesterday.

Mike Preston of the Baltimore Sun made the disparaging comments about DU lacrosse... :-)

Our fight song was written in 1916, and seeing the current students singing it like this makes this old alumnus very proud - this song connects nearly a 100 years of Pioneers, and it's great to hear it sung with volume and gusto.

Next week may be the biggest-ever crowd to ever see a Pioneer team play a sporting event, unless football had a 60,000+ crowd at some point, which I doubt.

Home DU football crowds never topped 30,000 on campus, and most western football in that era rarely saw more than 40,000 anywhere.
