So assuming he can make it back by early January, does that mean the team goes with 2 goalies until then? Sounds pretty risky.

Interesting and confusing explanations of the injury discovery process. They knew about it a month ago from an MRI in Denver but did not do anything about it until now. I'm not claiming any negligence, but it just sounds weird. Ligaments don't heal themselves magically...why wouldn't you get the thing fixed asap in the offseason?

Also, he said that it was injured in a collision with a Sioux player. Can we "sioux" the Sioux? Brock Trotter, Jesse Martin, Sam Brittain. Am I missing any other season long injuries caused by the Sioux in recent memory? Even if you take the Sioux argument that each hit was completely legal and actually the DU player's fault, we should at least deserve some punitive damages.

Ugh, please tell me this is a bad dream. Losing Brittain for most of the season is a kick in the nuts. I can't believe this.

Imaws asks the million dollar question.

Most likely Brittain wanted to play for Team Canada and the only way that was going to happen was if he was able to shine the Camp this summer.

If you're looking for a silver lining in all of this, he should be fresh in the playoffs.

I feel bad for the kid. But really last time we only lit him up for 5. I say we go double digits on sammie swiss cheese next time.

My question is, would he be better off taking the medical redshirt?

The plan is to win the National Championship this season while Zucker and Drew Shore are still in the stable.

Redshirting Brittain when he could be a valuable component down the stretch probably isn't an option at this point.

Personally, I dont think that you want to medical red-shirt this kid. I mean, he will probably look to leave early anyways. Plus, when you have a goalie that has been resting all year, and he is hungry to play, it might be the best play that Gwoz has to get through the first two rounds of the NCAAs. My only concern would be if they brought a goalie in early, then they would have 3 possible starters next season and lose some needed time for a young goalie playing junior. Its a tough spot.

wow, the sue are back on the blog again. I guess they must be working the 11-7 shift at the Piggly Wiggly so they have a lot of time on their hands.

The ligament may well have been rest and rehab sitation a month ago, but we have no idea how it could degenerate into a must-do-surgery standpoint in the last month. Maybe sammy aggravated it in the gym, or on the ice or playing some other sport over the last month.

Oh good now we will hear Lamian's from Boone town to Tampa town. Poor guy your lax team has won more post season games in the last 5 years than your hockey team.

But as many championships as North Dakota in the same time frame...

There will be plenty of articles chronicling North Dakota's epic choke jobs in the Frozen Fours.

You guys were awesome at the skills competition during the Denver frozen four they really loked good.

the undies looked really good losing out the '05
championship. really, they did...such (un)adorable losers. when was the last championship for hacktool, again?

Anonymous said...

Completely stupid that they didn't do his surgery a month ago when they supposedly "learned the extent of the damage from an MRI". That is an extra month of games he will be missing for nothing!!

The jealousy continues.....You DU bloggers have serious Sioux envy.

Why would we envy the Sioux? Not like they have more championships or anything. We get Colorado. You can have your -30 winters and delusions of our jealousy.

how many championships does hacktool have, again?
