Don't forget, coming up on October 7th all 3 of those brothers will skate during the same game, right in Magness Arena. I imagine the family will have quite a number of tickets for that game.

Exciting day for DU recruiting and the Shore family. Quentin and his family met with the coaching staff earlier today and confirmed he will be coming to Denver.

It's a good thing.
Shore is.

Well, this is certainly welcome and expected news, though the amount of time it took for this commitment was a bit disconcerting at times.

This is total rumor...but I heard about a year ago from "somebody who knows somebody who knows somebody"

DU was Quentin's top choice but he was waiting to commit until Gwoz's contract situation was resolved.

Combine this with the move to the NCHC and I'm thinking the Gwoz contract renewal might be all but official. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

too much has been made out of Gwoz' contract "situation"...he's already locked up for a few more years. Posturing by Gwoz about $$$/per year doesn't necessarily mean there was ever a problem about the length of said contract.

Unleash the Mermis!

You are missing Trevor Moore for 2013. The last 5 recruits we have picked up are all top notch. It should be fun to watch and see who turns heads this year in the ushl!

Thanks for the heads up.

Its been an amazing couple of weeks on the recruiting front.

Needless to say DU has never had this many young recruits. 12 of the recruits will be playing USHL games next season. Wow.

killer Miller deserves all the credit

Aluuum,

So, Gwoz doesn't do anything? Oh my. Maybe Steve does a lot of the ground work, but it's not like Gwoz doesn't generally seal the deal and recruits aren't like "Geez, I want to play for that assistant coach"...they come to play for Gwoz, for "Coach"...Gwoz and Miller are a team and compliment each other nicely and no player is offered a schollie without Gwoz' consent...

DU's 2010 Recruiting Class was ranked #1 by INCH.

F Jason Zucker
D David Makowski
F Nick Shore
F Beau Bennett
F Dan Olszewski
F Jarrod Mermis
G Sam Brittain
F Justin Jones

I don't think there is any doubt that the incoming 2011 Recruiting Class will be ranked #1 now that both Miami & UND lost their top recruit to major juniors.

D Scott Mayfield
F Zac Larraza
D Joey LaLeggia
F Larkin Jacobson
D-F Wade Bennett
F Matt Tabrum
D Josiah Didier
F Daniel Doremus
G Juho Olkinuora
F Ty Loney

Both 2012 & 2013 look awesome so far.

What's the story with Garrett Allen? Where is he playing this season? Garrett's rookie year in the USHL was impressive so we know he has some talent but what happened after that? Has he been playing in the off season? I would love to see him overcome whatever he is dealing with and reach his full potential. If anyone has any insight i would love to hear it.

It just may be that the kid has some personal problems that could be none of our business. I really do not know, but it's a good possibility, the possibilities are endless from personal to family problems. Who knows at this point, though I'm sure the coaching staff knows.
