Hey DG, you should get a life.
I have an unrelated question, about DU's final seasons coming up in the WCHA. Is there anything else "exciting" or interesting expected or rumored to happen in Colorado as far as extra carrots for hockey fans - other than the seasons, playoff games & tournaments? (I'm talking about - We've had the Frozen Four here, NCAA Regionals in Colorado Springs, The Avalanch Scrimmage, USA vs. Canada Girly pre-Olympic game at Magness. Anything else like that happening anytime soon? Maybe the NCHC Tournament will be at Pepsi Center each year and DU fans will get comparable tickets offered before going on sale to the public.
As much as I would love the NCHC at the Pepsi Center, I wouldn't hold my breath. Most likely gonna be at Qwest Center in Omaha, if you ask me. Though, they may alternate it around and see where it does best. The WCHA Final 4/5 started off in St Paul, then they alternated between Milwuakee and St Paul for a few years before deciding that it did better in St Paul.
Hey, there's always Sesame Street on Ice and Stars on Ice at the Pepsi Center
A couple of the best "carrots" DU fans ever got were during the '87-88 season. DU faced both the USA Olympic Team and a Russian team called Moscow Dynamo at the old barn. DU had a relatively decent team that season (finished 3rd in the WCHA) and held their own against Team USA, losing 4-2. Dynamo smoked us something like 9-1 or 10-1 (can't quite remember)...
