Chambers Blog Updates Brittain Injury Situation

Mike Chambers Blog interviewed University of Denver goaltender Sam Brittain about his knee surgery and his current prognosis.  There is also a very interesting tidbit on Adam Murray, who has undergone some major physical changes this summer, with an eye towards retaining his goaltending duties when Brittain returns.

"Murray, by the way, has shed some 20 pounds and is listed at 6-2, 185."

That is great news. I think that will help him live up to his potential. Obviously he'll be much quicker. I suddenly feel more optimistic about goaltending and therefore the team.

Sam looks good. I guess in a perfect world, after Christmas.... DU will be leading the WCHA, Murray will be playing the best he ever has, and Gwozdecky will have a hell of a decision to make. So at this point - I respectfully hope that Sam plays second fiddle to Adam

The whay Murray looked at the pro camp scrimmages and what the pro's were saying about him we really don't have much to worry about. He was a stone wall

I think it's always been a confidence thing with Murray. Now with him being definitely given the reigns for at least the first half of the season, I'm guessing he feels more comfortable mentally -- probably the biggest single thing that can affect a goalie's performance.
