Before the hockey game on Friday evening, the University of Denver Alumni Association hosted a mixer at Union Street Tavern near Boston College. Despite a heavy rainstorm, DU alums from throughout New England turned out for the pregame event.
Chancellor Coombe gave a speech about the university and boldly predicted a Pioneer hockey sweep in Boston. He almost nailed the prediction, as DU's valiant comeback fell just one goal short on Saturday night.
