Boone Squad To Protect Mascot During UND Series

(above) The paramilitary "Boone Squad" will protect our mascot this weekend
When the unwashed masses from west of the Red River invade Magness Arena this weekend, security for Boone will be a priority.  Having regained and lost the Fighting Sioux logo a half dozen times in the past few years is caused consternation in Sioux Nation and they have turned on each other.

The Boone Squad jackets arrived on Thursday and the students are ready to put their lives on line to protect Boone.

Is there anyway we can stop them before they enter the state?

Outstanding. Just freakin' outstanding. Fist bumps to whoever thought of it. I think I can guess.

@ Anon 4:16, sadly there is a large Sioux contingent residing in Denver who somehow found their way to civilization...

It was the students' idea and they've ordered the jackets. Should be pretty sweet seeing them escort Boone around Magness Arena.

I take they'll use this group next season when they escort Boon through the litter box that is CSWA?

That is the coolest thing I've seen all day.

I suppose crimson and gold truncheons would be out of the question. I've got this visual of an inebriated Sioux fan, with his green teeth and green wig messing with Boone and getting beaten like a red headed step child.

Can you imagine the dollars to be made if DU would sell Boone gear?

I have a Boone fleece that a friend of mine had made last year.
The vendor by the North Entrance has said several times that he could sell out the fleece.

Does anyone have a clue what is wrong with David Makowski? I see where he will be out again this weekend.

Makowski is recovering from concussion-like symptoms.

He has not yet tested at his pre-season baseline levels on the concussion symptom tests. Unfortunately, until he does, the doctors and training staff cannot clear him to participate in hockey activities.

You may need Boone patrol being that there will certainly be more Sioux fans at Magness than DU fans.

I thought last weekend against the Goophs it was a crimson -out, but than I realized it was just empty seats.

The More-Sioux-Fans-in-Magness-then-Denver Fans is the biggest bucket of pig tripe ever concocted. The most Sioux fans in Magness has been perhaps 800-1000 out of a total crowd of 6,000. They make a lot of noise, but at the end of day, 95% of them go back to their homes in the Denver suburbs and take off the Sioux gear, relieved that they don't have to live in North Dakota anymore.

Denver fans are never jealous of North Dakota. Our hockey program has as much or more hardware then UND does. Our school is far better than UND is. And our City and State blow away North Dakota as a desirable place to live - that's why so many Sioux fans live here!

More und fans than us?

That's a total fallacy.

und fans live in a fantasy world. Tech could very well beat your loser team out for home ice. lol.

The University of North Dakota Mens Ice Hockey Team..... sucks. The University of Denver Hockey Team... will sweep them. Green and white blows. Crimson and Gold.... wins.

"the Litterbox" .... Love it.

Frank Serratore once told me as an assistant at UND he and the other coaches always tried to bring recruits in at night. Didn't want 'em seeing Grand Forks in the day time. He may have been kidding. But the sentiment is certainly sound.

More hardware than UND!? Each team has 7 titles and UND has 15 WCHA titles. Believe Denver has 13 WCHA titles. Not sure I know what you mean by hardware, but believe UND wins that battle. Why don't you rollerblade another lap around Cheeseman.
