Would someone tell the league that the chicken hawk is dead and to stop using it!!!!!!!

What else are they supposed to use? It's not like they can use an unofficial mascot/logo like Boone. I suppose the interlocking D and U could be used, though. However, I would bet that the hawk was turned over to them for use by the athletic department.

Anon, they should use the "arched" Denver logo. The chicken hawk logo is not used anymore.

That doesn't look like official league graphics, more like something a fan put together.

DU always provides the updated arched Denver wordmark or the DU interlock to authorized users.

However, DU has not done as great a job telling media to not use the old bird anymore, so you still see it from time to time.

My guess is that NCHC grahpic is in no way an official one.

Well, if it was put together by a DU fan, then why is DU at the bottom? Seems a DU fan should have put DU top center. IMHO.

North Dakota blogger Goon put together the graphic.

I think its better than the official league logo because it tells everyone who the schools are in the conference.

It was certainly a thrill to see that pos logo when they were doing a live shot of Gwoz in the locker room before Friday's game. What the bleep do we have to do to get rid of that thing forever? Well, let's do it. Now.

KILL THE CHICKEN!!

To kill the chicken properly, you have to supply the equivalent new application with the arched Denver or the Interlocking DU to replace the the bird. In Gwoz' case, the Bird locker carpeting is likely pricey and still functional.

Accountants typically don't like replacing servicable stuff with new branded stuff.

Blame them.

Oh, for Christ's sake, quit making excuses. We displayed on national TV a logo which is no longer the University's. And you're arguing cost of replacement? Vizoroo and I have suggested heading to Target and buying a throw rug. Here's a question for you: is there any other school, in any DI sport, that would continue to display an outdated logo? Especially in the locker room where players spend a huge amount of time? Just as, for many years, DU was probably the only DI school, with a college of music, that NRVER played its fight song. We're almost certainly the only DI school to not honor its two immortal players. As I've mentioned, at Illinois they have an oil painting of Red Grange about the size of a boxcar in the student union. We've made some outstanding progress, but we still have a long way to go. Dan Ritchie's bird has got to go. And the one in the locker room should be first on the list.
