Its only the preseason, but the 2012 USHL Fall Classic kicked off the hockey season this week. DU recruit Landon Smith [5'11 168 lbs - Greenwood Village, Colorado] announced he's ready for the regular season with
three goals on just four shots for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders last night.
Smith's outburst, including the game winner, helped Cedar Rapids defeat the Lincoln Stars 4-3.

Member Clubs compete in three preseason games each during the Fall Classic.

DU upsets #13 Portland in Portland 3-1 in Women's Soccer to extend the Pioneers' unbeaten streak to 12 games. DU gets a bit orevenge on the Pilots. who knocked DU out of the NCAAs in 2009.
Portland is the NCAA attendance leader averaging over 4,000 fans per game coming into today.
Huge win for the Pios heading into WAC play. DU might crack the top 25 this week with the upset.
DU men's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to 7 with a 88' minute goal to beat Fairfield in Albuquerque.
