----------
Former DU Captain Ryan Caldwell's father, Bob, has been named as an assistant coach on the Western Michigan University hockey staff. Bob Caldwell coached at various levels of hockey and has been recognized by Hockey Canada for his leadership in coaching development programs.  Western Michigan will face DU several times each season in the NCHC starting next season.
-----------
The Colorado Springs Business Journal has an article detailing the revenue created by the Colorado College hockey program.  Many of the figures discussed would be similar or in the ballpark of what DU's hockey program generates.
----------
While the NHL strike lingers on, several former DU players have been sent down to the AHL to develop while the two sides negotiate a settlement.  Jason Zucker was among a group of players sent to the AHL Houston Aeros.

I am speechless that they sent Zucker to the AHL. Poor, poor coaching decision.

All NHL teams sent down their young players this week to the AHL because no one knows how long the NHL strike will last.

If the strike lasts all season, at least these players will continue to develop.

There's still a chance Zucker will be on the Wild's opening night roster. It's just that no one knows when opening night will be.

I like the CC article, except for the one crucial stat that they are missing in comparison to DU......the number of national chamionships! No matter how much money they raise, you can't buy a national championship when you are Constantly Choking.

And the fact, that they put the definition of a "puck bunny" at the end of the article. ANother crucial misfire because they are none of those at CC games.

After playing on the USNDP Under-17 team last season, Connor Chatham will play for Omaha in the USHL this season.

Guessing the move is designed to get him more ice time this season.
