Representing the Pioneers were junior Zach Blom, sophomore Chris Butler, senior Steven Cook, senior J.D. Corbin, senior Glenn Fisher, senior Ryan Helgason, senior Danny King, sophomore Patrick Mullen, sophomore J.P. Testwuide and junior Andrew Thomas. Blom, Cook, Corbin, Fisher, Helgason, King and Thomas are repeat selections for the Pioneers.
"On behalf of the entire membership of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, I want to commend each and every one of these 88 student-athletes for their outstanding academic accomplishments," said Commissioner Bruce M. McLeod. "They can take a great deal of pride in the fact that they have excelled both in the classroom while also competing at the highest level of collegiate athletics."
To earn a position on the annual All-WCHA Academic Team, member-team student-athletes must meet the following criteria: 1) have completed at least one year of residency at present institution prior to the current academic year; 2) have a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his overall grade point average is at least 3.00 for all terms at his present institution. The conference has recognized an All-WCHA Academic Team each season since the league instituted the honor beginning in 1984-85.
