Pioneers center Jesse Martin, part of an all-freshman line, fired into the net — where the puck joined rookie winger Kyle Ostrow at 3:54 of the second period.

The Huskies stood around while referee Randy Schmidt looked at the goal via instant replay, expecting it to be waved off, only he let it stand.

The play started when Denver freshman Anthony Maiani took the puck away from Aaron Brocklehurst in the Huskies' offensive zone.

Maiani passed ahead to Martin, who skated up the right wing 2-on-1. Ostrow crashed the net and, as Nate Dey backchecked him, fell in the crease and landed in the goal behind Jase Weslosky.

In the confusion, Martin whipped a shot inside the right post at 3:54 of the 2nd Period.

Glad DU got the win, but why wasn't this goal disallowed?? Seems like a badly missed call. If I'm a SCSU fan I'm furious.......
