Mike Chambers added a blurb to yesterday's posting that Tyler Ruegsegger suffered an injury to his midsection when he slid into the boards at Mankato. He will be questionable for this weekend's contests again the University of Minnesota.

Chambers also added that DU would make an announcement on the Trotter situation today.

A bad slump for the Pios appears to be getting worse with the probability that scorers #1 and #3 will not be in the lineup this weekend.

The Pios are in a full scale nosedive right now, and we'll see if they can pull out of it...

DU probably needs to retool the team and see if they can get by with the "Lockdown Defense" strategy they employed last season.

Everyone plays defense and if they get a lucky goal, hang on for dear life.

If they split their series the rest of the season and win in the first round of the WCHA playoffs they still might get in the NCAA's.

It's gut check time. There's nothing quite like being perched at or near the top at 17-4 and now facing huge adversity. Things sure have changed within the span of a few weeks. Andy Thomas will need to be a leader more than ever.

DU needs to win a game this weekend. Doesn't matter how, just get a win.

Agreed. Lets beat those dang Gophers.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I think DU's best hope for a win this weekend is if the gophers come in flat after an emotional weekend vs UND. I don't see that happnening though. Those guys are fighting just to stay in the polls and will probably be playing the rest of their games with a bug up their ass.

Regardless of who is in the lineup for DU from here on out, you can bet none of their opponents will be feeling sorry for the Pios. What's the old saying.....? Don't kick a man when he's down. That probably won't stop any other teams from trying to beat DU.

DU has always done their best when no one (including their own fans) gave them a shot. Lets hope the "backs against wall" mentality prevails.
