DU recruit David Makowski scored three points (2g, 1a) in the season opener for the Green Bay Gamblers (USHL), as the team raised their 2008-09 Anderson Cup banner but lost 5-4 to the Waterloo Black Hawks on Saturday.
The veteran Gamblers defenseman fired a game high seven shots on a goal and scored all three of his points on the power play. A 20-year-old native of Wildwood, Missouri, Makowski is playing in his second season for the Gamblers. He is committed to University of Denver next year.
