this aint soccer homeboy. nice try though!

No kidding. Nice left foot to right foot passing. His stick was waist high the entire time too. I hope the Susie fans don't actually think that this was a legitimate goal.

Great Video but one question. What happened to Boone this weekend? Didn't see him at either game.

Jordan said...

Anybody know what took them so long to review it? They took a while to go into the box, then came back out, then went back in?

achsdu17 said...

Ya he kicked it twice before it went in the net. Easily no goal.

Boone was there Friday, in the student section for about 5 minutes. Does he have a time limit now??

Amy said...

I don't think I've seen a more "distinctive" kicking motion than that. His stick was nowhere near that puck. NO GOAL!

it took so long because they also had to figure out who the penalty went to (jesse martin)

Great game by DU smokin the Sue. Goon is a flaming homo who complains about the refs bc his Susies lost - piss off bitch; and go DU. Genoway is the most overrated piece of shit in the WCHA. Chevy for Hobey!

Pio-Nation said...

3:13- We homos don't appreciate being associated with whomever "Goon" is. Find a better insult or just go back to using your old standby "n-word". You're making yourself sound like a redneck.

Anonymous said...

Real classy 3:13... way to lower yourself to the level of Sioux fans. Awesome job.

PioNation - fuck u bitch; I bet you voted for Obama too - you pussy!

Jordan said...

Anon 1:59- the only thing they're *technically* allowed to review whether a goal was scored or not. They can't retroactively award a penalty- that's an on ice decision.

Anonymous said...

You know what? You're wrong. Genoway is indeed a great player.... and keep in mind, I'm on the DU side of the fence here. Trust me - you'll see in January how good he is. I wish him & Wiercioch were healthy & played this series.

Jordan said...

I hope Genoway plays in GF. Just for good measure and sportsmanship, never like to see anyone hurt. As much as I fear him, I hope he plays.

Haha, good to see the fun DU fans come out when the team wins. :D

If you truly believe that, then you know nothing about hockey, my friend.
Genoway is one of the best players in college hockey this year. He'll be in the Hobey 10...maybe even the Hobey Hattrick if he can make it back from injury soon.

Anonymous said...

Genoway in the Hobey "Hat Trick" is fuckin' hilarious.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great player, but be realistic. Like, how Chevy is realistically the front-runner for Hobey at this point....

Given DU emerged from the weekend with four points, it would be nice to see a little more gracious attitude from some of the DU fans on here.

Sure, there are always a few Sioux fans that will try to stir things up here, but I don't much worry about that. The games are played on the ice, and sportsmanship should extend to fans as well as players.

By the way, every team in the WCHA would love to have Chay Genoway. He is deservedly among the very best d-men in the nation.I am sure UND would have been a different team with him in the lineup this last weekend.

3:13.....you're obviously a grade A dipshit. Go back to your cave.

This blog has sank to a new low. I think we all have trash talked on here from time to time, however, this is getting absolutely rediculous. Thanks for standing up Swami and doing the right thing. At least your actions prove that you guys "have been there before". Its time for the editor to step in and lead by example. I think you have fanned the flames of SIOUX hatred long enough.

Anonymous said...

Genoway overrated? Seriously? I hate the Sioux as much as the next guy, but attacking Genoway is just ridiculous. He's a great player.

Twister said...

I'll make the same point. Anyone who disparages Genoway either doesn't know the game or is just doing so to ruffle feathers. Either way, it's juvenile.

Amy said...

Anon @ 10:58:

I couldn't agree more.

Anonymous said...

Can we disparage Hextall since his penalties cost UND the game?

dggoddard said...

WCHA coaches make big money and have a choice on their profession and location. Fire away. :-)

Anonymous said...

So we can make fun of Dave “the bird” Hakstol. What about Brett “I cost my team the game the game by taking stupid penalties (dumbass for short)” Hextall?

dggoddard said...

Quite a few North Dakota players were probably pretty disappointed in their performance this weekend.

My guess is that they will be seething at the "rubber match" in Grand Forks in Jan.

DU better be ready for a knife fight.

DG - I wish you would have used a better choice of words there. Given the teams collective history and run-ins with the law, I would hate to think you planted any ideas in their heads :)

I only saw Fridays game, which was entertaining, and well played.

As for Hobey candidates, here is my WCHA list for the season so far.

Cheverie - DU
Fontaine - UMD
Genoway - UND

Oh, and can you do us Sioux fans a favor and sweep CC in two week for us, Thanks.

I’m glad that most of you think that the refs did a good job this weekend, but the ones who paid attention know they did a half ass job. At one point the refs blow the play dead when DU had the puck and the penalty was on UND; now that's good work (this is just one example of many). Your team won, they were the better team, and your goalie came up huge when he need to. I don't know if good officiating would have changed any of that and neither does anyone else, but both teams disserve better. It's ironic that the last time these teams met there were six penalties in a row on one team and the coach on the wrong end was so furious that he went out on to the ice to discuss it with the officials. Yet the fans and coach of the team that had the exact same thing happen to them are “whiners”. So what does that make you “hypocrites”? I don't now I’m just asking.

achsdu17 said...

Well apparently the refs were doing their job when the commissioner of the WCHA was overlooking the game and according to a friend of mine who does work as a ref in the WCHA, had all ref who were not working go to the game and take notes.

Anonymous said...

Those refs were using this game as example of how NOT to call a game. Sorry didn't mean to confuse you achsdu17.

Anonymous said...

5:45. We're all fans with tinted sunglasses ;-)

It's funny you brought up that last game when Gwoz did his dasher dance. I remember there being several calls in a row on DU. I'll take your word that there were six.

If you recall, many Sioux fans were calling us cry babies and defending the refs.

I was really tempted (but too lazy) to go back and find the old thread on USCHO (where DU fans were crybabies) and post it into the new one (where Sioux fans were crybabies)......just to point out the hypocrocy of it all

Anonymous said...

Your right they were saying the same thing, but I didn't agree with them either. The only thing that is different between now and then is, now there is perfect symmetry (2nd game, 2nd period, opposite buildings, opposite teams, and damn near the same out come). I just don't think its right to condemn Sioux fans for having the same feelings that the coach you defend had, that's all.
