According to the subscription site US Hockey Report, Western College Hockey Blog & Heisenberg's Recruiting Website the University of Denver has landed top-level recruit Beau Bennett (6'1 - 180 lbs.)
Bennett is the final piece of DU's 2009 recruiting class (excluding recruited walk-ons). Bennett is from California but has played this season for the Penticton Vees in the British Columbia Hockey League.
Bennett is considered by most to be a recruit along the lines of current or former Pioneers Kyle Ostrow, Connor James, Tyler Bozak or Gabe Gauthier.
Bennett's stats this season have been sensational. In just 27 games he has 22 goals and 30 assists. He is only 18 years old (his birthday was last Friday) and leads all BCHL Rookies in scoring. He played for the LA Junior Kings in California last year.
Bennett narrowed down his NCAA interest to rivals Colorado College and DU early on this Fall, with their close proximity to the Californian’s home as a big factor. Beau visited both schools in October and it wasn’t until today that he picked up the phone and made his decision.
DU has four sensational recruits coming in next season. All four players should be drafted this summer in the NHL Draft (Makowski may be too old). In all likelyhood they will be selected higher than any four DU players have ever been selected in the Draft. Zucker should be a first or second rounder, Bennett & Shore are possible 2nd-5th rounders. Makowski could go anywhere (2nd-7th Round). DU Freshman Shawn Ostrow is also draft eligible and may go in a late round.

How big is he?
6'1" 180 lbs.
Thanks for the heads up, I meant to put that in the article, but omitted it.
Welcome to the family, Beau.
THe best get better. Money flows to money. Holy salami, D.U. just keeps reeling in these top prospects. Our future looks very bright for the next few years for sure.
Beau is projected to be a 3rd-4rd round pick.
I saw that he was a "B" Grade on the Oct. 20 NHL Prospect List which would equate to a middle round selection. But since then he had a huge Junior A Tournament.
He has the CJHL Prospect Game this weekend in front on the NHL scouts.
Looks to me like his stock is going up. McKeens is saying that he'll go in the top two rounds.
