(above) “Tiger Pride–Eight Decades of Colorado College Hockey” makes its prime-time television premiere on the NHL Network at 5 pm MT Friday, Nov. 26.
Problem: Your local hockey team is in 11th place in the WCHA. Season ticket holders are fleeing like rats on a sinking ship.
Solution:
- Drop ticket prices
- Use three Zambonis to clean ice
- Turn a blind eye marijuana smoking in the dorms
- Produce a flashy hockey video that ignores 53 years of futility, hire Doc Emrick to do the voiceover and somehow convince the NHL Network to show the video over Thanksgiving

Originally, this was supposed to be a video on the DU/CC rivalry. But DU showed little interest in cooperating, and it became a CC documentary instead.
Looks like a lot of the video is dedicated to showing CC players lacing their skates and taping their sticks.
Will be interesting to see how the movie portrays the "Blackface Incident," cheating scandals and ménage à trois recruiting strategy.
I think it's really sad that DU wasn't interested. Any idea why?
hopefully DU will get an HBO series instead of NHL. like hard knox only with college hockey and kinda cooler
Eight decades of being a bridesmaid!
How come they didn't show all of the banners in the World Arena that chronicle their rise to mediocrity?
I'm sure dozens of former CC players/current insurance salesmen will turn in to remember the good old days. "What, you had laces? Back in my day we had nail our skates onto our feet, that was REAL hockey ... "
"8 decades of triumph and despair"
Meh...mostly despair.
Why would we want to cooperate with that 3rd tier program? They're not better than a redheaded stepchild with a peg leg...
Here is the press release release metioning DU's non-cooperation:

I am not sure why DU would not cooperate at at the highest levels, but I imagine that there must have been a soild reason why DU would opt out....
Why didn't DU participate?

So there's that.
Donald, you are such a card. You must get a life one day
Smacks of "pay-for-play," ... in other words, CC paid a fee to have it made and aired. A lot more common than you'd think.
Its almost impossible to get anything unbudgeted done at DU no matter how good the idea.
And at the end of the day, something like this would have very limited value for DU.
It would be interesting to know what someone like Doc Emerick charges to do a voiceover.
He'd be perfect for the Boone Documentary.
If hubris = 7 national championships, I'll take it.
LOL... they might as well do a documentary on Yuma Football. ;)
Or they could a documentary on DU hoops...
Why a highlight video? Wouldn't a highlight slide cover it just as well?
