Denver 3 - Alaska Anchorage 2 FINAL

The University of Denver scored the third fastest goal in school history and held Alaska Anchorage at arms length for most of the evening, before prevailing 3-2. Kyle Ostrow provided the early spark on a great pass from Anthony Maiani 9 seconds into the game.

Kyle Ostrow added a second goal and Beau Bennett recorded the game winner in the third period. Anchorage native Adam Murray recorded his fourth consecutive victory for the Pioneers in goal.

Thanks to Nebraska-Omaha's 8-4 victory at North Dakota, DU leapfrogged the Sioux and moved into first place in the WCHA.

Pretty even game that could have gone either way, but Nick Shore and Beau Bennett teamed up on the play of the night to give DU the game winner in the third

UAA played gutty with Grant and Pickering out of the lineup for a penalty and injury, respectively.

Pios need to plau a bit more controlled - lots of turnovers tonight.

DU had a pretty decent game tonight but turnovers did kill us. Yes they are quick but sometimes they out skate themselves.

Also UAA's goalie had a pretty good game tonight to. If it wasn't for him DU could of been up by 2 or 3 at least.

I never thought I see DU at the top of the WCHA this season. Lets see how long we can stay.

Hard fought victory for DU tonight over a very competitive UAA team. The Pios were sloppy at times with the puck, but did just enough to win.

It never ceases to amaze me--when DU commits to a forecheck and gets physical play from their forwards they create a lot of havoc and consequently offensive zone pressure and scoring chances. The S. Ostrow line had some good shifts tonight banging the body.
I'd like to see that on a more consistent basis.

Glad to see Murray get another victory. Captain Ostrow is the pulse of this team. When he goes, they go. I think he's a terrific leader.

I hope the kid from UAA is ok.

North Dakota's trademark lack of discipline might bite them in the butt again. Big fist fight tonight involving Lamareaux. I would think he's suspended for Saturday night at the very least.

gutsy win last night. anchorage is an improved team.

While UAA's hockey team may be improved, their fan base is still whiney and quite annoying. No improvement there, unfortunately. Maybe a breakthrough in igloo chemical-toilet technology is what is needed there.

I just read that Justin Jones returned to the Texas Tornados. Anyone have any color on this situation. How might this effect Seth's decision? Not good news. Any light on where Seth's head is these days I would realy like to land this kid? Why hasn't Quinten given us a verbal....do you think he has the talent that his brothers do? Any names on the radar for 2013??

Did y'all see??? Another departing cheap shot on a Denver guy at the final buzzer by the Sea-Losers. I thought for sure there would be fisticuffs and melee, like last time those retards were in Magness. SUH-WEEP
