And what really pissed me off, is that the radio hosts were all in agreement... saying the Avs suck, the Broncos are at rock bottom, the Rockies suck, and of course Carmello left so the Nuggies suck (I'm just quoting the radio hosts, people).... and NOT ONE FRICKING MENTION about the great Denver Pioneer Hockey team. I was so angry. If I could have reached my cell phone while driving, I would have called in to ask WTF they're talking about - and why they don't mention DU Hockey. The mainstream sports fans in this state are so out of touch.
While I am more than happy to take well reasoned criticism from anyone, I respect DG's decision. This is a DU blog, and discussion should be about that first and foremost. DG was also right that the discussion wasn't going anywhere.
I am always happy to engage on substative DU opinion, but I am no good at smack talk or outright insults. So if you go that route with me, you won't get much back.
SCSU is such a solid team that they are so much better than their record, while DU has so many holes that it is incomprehensible that this team is in 2nd place. The prediction is that DU will be lucky to escape with a point and if, by chance, DU manages a win an apology to the SCSU fans is in order since a crap team like DU should do nothing else but get kicked by SCSU.
I was impressed by DUs rebound on Saturday at Omaha. Getting Ostrow back is big too, and I think DU will take 3 points this weekend against an improved SCSU team.
Hard to believe this is the last weekend of the regular season. DU needs to send the seniors out in style, play hard for 120 minutes this weekend, and hopefully get a good start for a change and get the crowds engaged.

Anyone want to explain to me again why Donovan is so great? He got burned on the GWG and is -3 over the past 6 weeks or so. He's directly responsible for at least 2 of the 4 shorties we gave up the past 2 weekends.
Why is he still playing in key situations? Why do we still go with 4 f's and 1 d on the PP? It hasn't really produced anything at all except shorties.
9 out of 10 games we give up the 1st goal. 4 out of 5 weekends we lose on Friday. I'm very pessimistic about the next few weekends, and no I'm not Swami or pessimistic fan.
Another disappointing turnout by the Students. No Boone either. Donovan was sloppy and at times Brittain looked like he was looking for Waldo in the stands. How is it interference on Nutini if the puck is at their feet? Plus the inadvertent whistle for "too many men" coming from they guy that was on the far side was not a good move by Shepherd. Not a good officiating night.
Gwozdecky was out coached in opinion. Tonight is a big game for Denver. Don't think "The Cloud" isn't ready and waiting - and capable -to ruin this little "assured" code red win. Gwozdecky was out coached in opinion. Tonight is a big game for Denver. Don't think "The Cloud" isn't ready and waiting - and capable -to ruin this little "assured" code red win. Put yourself in Cloud's skates.... imagine the surge they'd get by sweeping DU here, on Senior night.....scary. Play like you can Denver... play like you can. Why the hell is tonight not on TV? Poor planning by both DU and "root". Will this thread rack up 150 posts????
Maybe Gwoz is the problem. Everyone seems scared to say it, but come on, DU hasn't won a tournament game since 05. Nobody gets a free pass. Everyone's tired of the postseason crap. Maybe his message is getting stale.....

Look. You win some and you lose some. The point is to win many more than you lose and position yourself for the highest seed possible for the tourney and take it from there. That's what Gwoz and this team has done so far. If they're cut out to go far, then they will; If they aren't then they won't. End of story. A utopic garden of babylon will not sprout on campus if they go all the way and a giant sinkhole will not swallow the campus if they don't. Life will go on no matter what. Now go dress in crimson & gold and help cheer on the Pios tonight...
Their point wasn't that we've lost just one game and the sky is falling. It's been 6 years and the sky is falling.
2:23....you miss the point. DU has had solid regular seasons. That's not the issue. But every season since 2005 DU has sucked in the playoffs. That's the problem. It's not one year or two years....it's 6 years running. That's not a fluky ocurrence. It's a bad trend.
