Just goes to show you how classless the goons are at UND.

once a goon, always a goon. too much inbreeding.

While I'm sure Jesse is miffed by this 'snub', I am sure Mike Chambers isn't missing an opportunity to stoke the fires of gamesmanship, either.

In other words, it's playoff time.

Anonymous said...

Why the sudden change of heart from Jesse? Everything was fine and dandy last weekend at the F5, and now this?

I'm guessing that Chambers is just trying to stoke the fire here.

What did we expect? For Malone and UND to send him emails/texts/phone calls every day?

Why do I get the feeling that this is just Chambers trying to get a reaction where none is needed?

i can't believe that we even recruited this POS...Jesse is good person, malone not so much...screw the sioux

That's funny, I don't remember reading about any "outreach of support" from the DU team/coaches for Bina after Paukovitch broke his neck.

Nor do I remember Bina whining about it when he didn't get the level of "support" that he wanted.

Anonymous said...

Stay classy Du and the Denver Post. I happen to know for a fact that Bina didnt recieve a call at all from Punkobitch. Not untill after he started playing again he recieved a email from him. Let one of the DU goons challenge Malone in NHL preseason camp and Id lvoe to see that. Get Fucked!

Pauk not reaching out might have had something to do with the death threats coming his way from your amazingly classy fan base.

Anonymous said...

hmmm let's think back to a few days after Martin got hit and was lying in a hospital bed unsure if he would ever walk again...who was the one to make the first phone call? Martin was the one who called Malone first to ease Malone's mind about the hit, shouldn't it have been vice versa? Martin is a very classy guy and puts the bunch of classless, rude players at North Dakota to shame.

North Dakota, stay classy. I hope RPI CREAMS you this weekend.

I used to think that CC was our biggest rival, I think UND has assumed that role.

They show with each post, each game, what a bunch of thugs they are. Most of their posts here include their colorful language. Guess anything over two syllables is a stretch for them.

I was down at the CC game in November. The entire crowd stood during the moment of silence for Jesse. Class move. I don't think we would have seen the same at the Ralph.

I hope Seth and his team put the big hurt on UND. It would make my day.

Let's not forgot that the Paukovich on Bina hit was as dirty as you'll ever see. Malone's hit was clean. What more do you guys want? Any chance you have to take cheap shots at ND hockey you jump on. Perhaps it makes you feel better because you know UND is the superior team. Doesn't matter that DU played their best game of the season last Saturday and "should have won". Guess what they didn't. As inconsistent as DU is, I'd be surprised if they are suiting up on Sunday. Take your digs while there's still hope!! Carry on babies.

Who won the final five this year? I seem to have forgotten. Ur coach gunna walk on the ice again like hes got a stick in his ass or what? U fairys wanna tassle or what? U guys are lucky that ND's economy is so damn good running a 1.5 billion dollar surplus so we can go pack the X and make sure every school gets there 100K check from Gwoz's best friend Bruce.

Stay Classy Denver!

Obviously, English is not a required course at UND. I tell you way too much inbreeding. I bet the family reunions in ND are special times.

If you take all the emotion, name calling and rhetoric out of this story you have a pretty simple situation.

Chambers interviews Malone. Brad says all the right things, but mentions that, "He tried to call & text Jesse."

Chambers gets an interview with Jesse and it contradicts a very important detail in Malone's story about Malone contacting Jesse.

Now Chambers has a problem because the two stories don't jive. Luckily, he's in the lobby of the Saint Paul hotel when Jesse and Malone meet for the first time after the injury. The meeting is brief and awkward.

Presumably Malone has phone and text message records from his phone bill so if he wants to call Chambers out, he could show them to Brad Schlossman of the GF Herald at some point in the future.

Jesse has handled the injury with class, courage and strength. He is a credit to his family, his team and university.

By and large North Dakota fans have shown class throughout this ordeal as well, but a few of the old bad habits seem to be returning.

Anonymous said...

What does he want a big cake with everybodies name on it. Really!?! After the apologies etc happened what else do you want? seriously...Call us goons, but we've never ran another player head first into the boards like punkobitch- he got death threats, well he deserved them. whoes the Goons now???

Jordan said...

If Chambers, the Sioux and their fan base, and even DU and our fan base won't, I'd like to take the first step to move on. It's about Jesse's recovery, not the hit. I'm tired of talking about the hit. Clean or not, legal or not, it's done and over, and Jesse's alive. Most DU fans will always think it was dirty, most UND fans will maintain that it was a clean hit. That's not going to change. It's not worth the effort on either side.

Now it's about supporting his ongoing recovery rather than pointing fingers. There's already enough hatred, trash talk with terrible grammar, and grueling, brutal games that happen in this rivalry. It stresses me out enough without adding another log to the fire. True or not, a timing game or not, I'm not sure what this article accomplishes. I'm usually one to appreciate Chambers' reporting. I just don't see the point.

It's bad enough to deal with all the green crap that's going to get stirred up this weekend anyway. No reason for UND to raise my blood pressure even more. It's just not healthy.

I'm not downplaying the near tragedy of the situation, nor the miraculous recovery that has happened so far. A dark moment has turned into a miraculous triumph for the college hockey community- let's focus on that instead.

Anonymous said...

I gave Malone the benefit of the doubt until I read his comments last week. He was most concerned that people were calling him a goon. Really?!?! What about the guy laying in the hospital bed. He took runs at Salazar, Zucker, and got away w a board on Phillips last weekend. No doubt about it, he's a goon

RPI wins in OT said...

"he got death threats, well he deserved them. whoes the Goons now???"

Death threats for any reason should not be tolerated. I'm not surprised some mouth breathing susie fan would condone them.

Anonymous said...

Martin is lucky to be alive, My brother is a Doctor and said that only 2% of people with his injury would have survived. i think that is amazing, stop complaining about a legal hit. and lets leave it on the ice the weekend. And sense when is a goon a bad thing, better a goon then a diver. Robbie Earl anyone

Anonymous said...

A program takes on the personalty of its coach/leadership. Pretty simple....Hakstol is a wannabe tough guy and an insenstive asshole. Ask anyone. So go his players.......

Anonymous said...

Inbreeding, wrong part of the country pal, you can tease us for being hick or what ever, but we still kicked your ass last weekend for the second Broadmore in a row.

Anonymous said...

*Broadmoor. Learn how to spell if you're going to come to another team's blog and talk trash.

You guys really don't have anything better to do with your time? At least Goon actually contributes to the conversation most of the time. More than can be said about most posters (DU, UND, CC) anymore.

Anonymous said...

Goons, really, look at all the SIOUX players that have gone on to greatness. Belfour, Stafford, Zajac, Parise, Commodore, Toews, Oshie, etc etc. how's them apples, you can have paul pansy and his whinny dad and last place aves. we'll take Johnny Toews the cup and the conn smyth anyday!

Anonymous said...

That doesn't mean we like you or care about your program.

swanman said...

I was at the game and positioned perfectly to see the check Malone made on Jesse Martin. The check was neither from behind, against the boards or after the whistle, as was the Bina incident. Plain and simple Jesse was skating with his head down.....a no no that is taught at the earliest stages of hockey development, for this very reason. Malone's elbows were down, as he delivered a hard and legal check. Good luck in your recovery Jesse, and as for you few and special DU fans on this board.....Break out the wine and cheese!

last i checked nodak didnt win a stanley cup

Anonymous said...

learn how the spell, original, maybe we can just look at the trophy we have in GF. and Someone needs to represent when you dicks are trying to stirr up shit, you think that will help you win, doubtful, give Gwoz A banana before the game, im sure he'll go ape!

Anonymous said...

Ya, last time i checked, neither did you, but when they asked him about the after winning it, he gives mad props to ND. We take pride in that maybe you should think before you end up sounding like a vineger truck driving into a lake

Duhh - DU fans here, i have my 1978Montrachet from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti all ready for tomorrow...don't you? Oh thats right - your a poor asshole.

No where's my helicopter?

harumph indeed

NOBODY SHOULD CARE ABOUT THE FREAKING HIT ANYMORE

THE OPINIONS OF PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE BECAUSE YOU SAY YOU WERE THERE AND ARE APPARENTLY AN EXPERT

THE OPINIONS OF UND FANS ARE NOT GOING TO CHANGE BECAUSE WE BITCH ABOUT THEM NOT BEING FRIENDLY ENOUGH TO HIM AFTER THE INCIDENT

MOVE ON! SERIOUSLY!

CAN WE TALK HOCKEY OR JUST SMACK?

This is absurd. Go away if you have nothing to contribute.

Anonymous said...

last i checked the av's had won two stanley cups

DU you better get you shit together, after WI and MN leave, you'll have to increase you travel fanbase, pretty sad seeing only 10 or so DU fans at the final five, funny to have gopher fans cheering for you

UNDfan said...

All I can say DU fans, it ain't a one-way street so all you "Anonymous" pricks, don't go acting all high and sanctimonious. Anyone can easily say your team "SNUBBED" Robbie Bina just as much as Martin feels "snubbed."

I agree with the others, Mike Chambers is trying to stir the pot here between the two teams and fan bases.

Anonymous said...

This is absolutely sad to read. I doubt a UND player is going to lie about attempting to call and most hospitals don't allow cell phone usage so I strongly believe he tried calling and perhaps it didn't go through. let's all try and have a heart. Imagine whats going through Malone's head as well, do you think in his head he believes that Martin will want to hear from the guy who by accident nearly ended his life. I could give two craps about a hockey game at this point, hands down I will always care more about two young men whose lives were both affected by this. I find you disgusting superfans who discuss death threats and retaliation embarassing. Both players are young men who have falled victim to publicity ploys. Whoever wants to think that Malone would have been OK taking a fellow players life should stop and think before mindlessly ranting. Those two boys are someones kids, and they were raised well enough to make it to the collegiate hockey level and possibly beyond. Neither would want to ever take that from another.

Ring of Fire, from the comments on the original article, congrats on putting in words what im sure everyone is thinking, Chambers tricked him into saying things that he may not of felt, and so on, nice to get fans stirred up, but please watch it, we don't need either team to turn into the kind of assholes the gopher fans are

Ketchup and Mustard said...

Chambers is trolling and you all fell for it. The "liberal" media strikes again.

Anonymous said...

Ring of Fire really did say it perfectly in the original article. Chambers is a shit disturber, and judging by the comments on here, he got what he wanted, but I really don't like the way he represented Martin or UND. I'm a huge DU fan, but I've met previous UND teams and they where a super nice bunch of guys and (shocker!) much nicer to my friends and I than the DU players from a few seasons ago. I hate it when people say shit about teams without having ever met any of them. I'm sure there are some bad apples on every team, but most of the time it is the disrespectful fans that make me dislike teams, not the players themselves.

Imaws Kcup said...

As a fanbase, the Sioux are clinically narcissistic.

As a frequent reader of varios internet forums, they are by far the most frustrating and unreasonable fan base. There is zero point in engaging in conversation with them. On the plus side, it really makes every win against them that much sweeter.

For the record, I'm not putting all Sioux fans in the same bucket. Goon, BrianVF, Mike Rane, FSSioux 23, and some others are great fans and posters. Hell, I even like Dirty.

swanman said...

Finally.....signs of higher inteligence!

Anonymous said...

WELL what do you expect, people always calling UND goons and inbred, plus the pussy piece of shit NCAA trying to take away one of the only truly great sporting teams that ND has ever had. you may say its just a logo, but you know it's not

Ketchup and Mustard said...

If UND had any standards at all as a program and if the fanbase didn't go out of their way to irritate everyone they run across people probably wouldn't hate UND so much. You guys could learn a thing or two about humility from the Gophers fans and that's saying something considering that at least a few years ago they acted like they invented hockey and sliced bread on the same day.

Anonymous said...

There's the kicker!

Going out of their way to muck up other team's blogs. Complaining about a penalty months upon months after the fact, as if a player's life and livelihood were of equal importance.

There are always exceptions, from DU's fan base as well. But this is seriously absurd.

Anonymous said...

Yeah; I'm a fan of Chambers' writings usually - but IMHO, that space in the papar today could have been put to much better use if he had done a nice cool feature on Bozak being in town or something like that. This is just re-opening the wounds, so-to-speak.... and just by coincidence.... the weekend of the regionals where DU and UND could meet again.

I was hopeful that from the story last week when they talked in the hotel, and JM being cleared by the Dr and all that....that this would start fading away. Guess not.

If he's expecting flowers and chocolates from Dave Hackstol; for God's sake - everybody in the world knows Coach Hack isn't exactly Mr. Sensitive. We, as fans, need to get over this.

Ring_of_Fire said...

Dunno where to put this, but tUMD just beat Union in the first round of the Bridgeport regional. Omaha is beating Michigan/ 1-0 with 13 minutes left in St. Louis. Good things happening for the WCHA.

Ring_of_Fire said...

2-0, UNO. 11 minutes left in 1st. Michigan is on their heels, badly.

dggoddard said...

3 Colorado or 3 WCHA teams in the Frozen Four would be cool with me.

Go DU

Ring_of_fire said...

End of 1 in St. Louis. UNO still up 2-0. Though Michigan put some pressure on late in the period, it almost looks as if the Blue Menace wasn't expecting the kind of speed UNO has. Weird, too...because it's only been a year since the Mavs were in the CCHA.

Brad Malone is such a heartless punk. His uncle Karl Malone has even publicly stated in interviews that Brad is a blemish to the Malone dynasty, and often feels that he is related to the "Mike Tyson of the ice".

Anonymous said...

@ anonymous, nice try but I don't think Brad Malone is related to the Basketball player Karl Malone. He is not only white but also a red head.

CIS said...

I wanted Malone's head after the hit. Calmed down. Felt better. Then watched him run Pioneers into the boards after the whistle last week. Dude is a goon.

I'm not here to debate previous hits by players no longer on the rosters. UND is a great team. It is obvious to me they run an intimidating style of play coached by their staff, and Malone is a natural at it. He will be the next Matt Cooke in in the NHL.

I love their fan support. I would also be that passionate if I had absolutely nothing else to cheer for.

Let's talk for a minute about the "Green" really fat drunk people at the Xcel in MN last weekend! WOW!
They looked like trolls as they screamed "Winning!"
