DU's opponents in the WCHA playoffs will be Minnesota State.  According to the Mankato Free Press, the Mavericks haven't advanced to the WCHA Final 5 since 2003.  The longest futility streak in the WCHA.

DU Alum Tyler Bozak is a Restricted Free Agent for the Toronto Maple Leafs after this season.  Interesting to note that while Bozak's stats have been decent (10G, 24A) his plus/minus (-25) has been woeful.  The Los Angeles Times speculates what type of a contract offer Bozak may receive this summer.

Mike Chambers Blog looks at the WCHA after Wisconsin and Minnesota depart in 2014.  Chambers thinks DU could form a powerful conference with UNO, UND, Miami, Notre Dame and Colorado College.  Colorado College AD Ken Ralph was quoted over the weekend that the Big 10 Schools will be voting on a new hockey conference soon and the result is a foregone conclusion.

The Grand Forks Herald blogger Brad Elliot Schlossman has a list of WCHA writers that published their ballots for the WCHA All-Conference selections, WCHA Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Player of the Year.  Jason Zucker looks like a near unanimous selection for Rookie of the Year.  DU was well represented on the ballots.
