Two Front Page Articles About DU-CC Series

(above) DU's homegrown heroes receive a little facetime in the Denver Post today
The front pages of the Colorado Springs Gazette and Denver Post sports sections had fantastic articles today about college hockey.

The Gazette focused on the matchup tonight between #14 ranked Colorado College and #2 ranked DU.  The Post looked at the Colorado Thunderbirds hockey development program and the inroads that have been made in youth hockey in Colorado in recent years.

DU students are gearing up for the big game tomorrow night. White-Out T-shirts, Thunderstix & the season debut of Mega-Boone.

Don't forget the big DUGS pre game BBQ in front of the arena. All fans are welcome to the FREE food grilled up by the students as longs as it lasts.

Should be an electric atmosphere.

I still say they should make that entire south side of Magness one big student section for CC weekend. Given how quickly the student section sells out on CC week, I think it could probably be filled, plus it would make for an unbeatable atmosphere.

White-out in the student section...Anyone remember the comment some idiot made about that situation a few years ago?

Hint - it involved a circle jerk...

When DU built Magness Arena the plan was for the entire South Section of the stands to be the Student Section. Sadly demand never reached projections.

If DU students would purchase 1,000 season tickets before the season started, you could make the case for expanding the student section.

I'd love to see it, but the students would need to step up in a big way to make something like that happen.

Sure they could fill that whole side of the place for CC and Dakota... but what about the other times, when on occaison, it's a barren, desolate vast open space? They could let the friggin 16th street mall homeless people sleep over there during some games I've seen.

Went to both games last year against UND and the student section wasn't full for either night. Looks like this is your weekend.
