The University of Denver hockey team traveled down to Colorado Springs to finish the home and home series with Colorado College. After an emotional win over CC Friday night, DU lost 9-2 in a penalty filled contest in which DU played one of their poorest games in recent years. DU led after the first period after being badly outshot. Drew Shore scored an unassisted goal to put DU up 1-0.
CC stormed back in the 2nd period with 3 power play goals. Nick Dineen at 3:43 got CC on the board with the 1st goal. Stephen Schultz got his 2nd goal in two nights to give CC the lead at the 6:45 mark. Jaden Schwartz got CC's 3rd goal to give them the 2-goal lead at the 14:55 mark.
CC scored 6 unanswered goals in the 3rd period to make it 9-1. Sam Brittain was pulled after the score was 5-1. Adam Murray came in and gave up the last 4 goals. Jason Zucker got DU's 2nd goal with just a few seconds left in the game. CC scored 5 power play goals on the evening.
