Perhaps there's a lesson here? We should all do a better job (myself included) of reserving judgement until any and all speculation is removed from our opinion.
Wow am I relieved Jesse's doing better. This has really bothered me but I'm happy to see the DU community come together, and I also appreciate CC and UND fans support.
If you read the Post's Stastny story the Avs T.J. Galiardi had a chilling comment...
"You don't want to make it seem like it was the guy's fault that he broke his neck, but there are times that everyone — I don't care if you're Sidney Crosby or whoever — has their head down," Galiardi said. "Even in the NHL, you try to keep it up as much as possible, but it's sometimes down and that makes you vulnerable."
The Bozak article contained the following nugget...
"While there didn't appear to be any malicious intent on the play, Malone could face a possible suspension because the NCAA has vowed to crack down on hits to the head. A spokesman for the Western Collegiate Hockey Association said Tuesday that the incident is still under review."
Gwoz said today in his press conference that the hit to the head was "not a legal hit", and the penalty was not called because e Jesse was lying on the ice, but because the linesman saw the hit, and the referees didn't see it"
AR's used to have the right to call the penalty outright. But, they changed it back to where they have to wait for a stoppage and make a recommendation to the ref. These 2 refs were just blind for a moment...and that does NOT mean there won't be repercussions for Mr Malone.

Hey wait, the ND story says that Malone called Martin not the other way around. Maybe that Malone kid isn't so bad after all.
Two interesting quotes from the stories above.
